Security Officer (1 Post)

Duties And Responsibilities

Conduct surveillance and random checks on security members.
Check compliance to stipulated deployment times and point of duty.
Inspect security features, installations and programs for compliance.
Gather, preserve, and present evidence in criminal trials and disciplinary hearings.
Maintain weekly, monthly, and annual crime report database.
Guide and lead teams in operations and enforce discipline in the security department.
Formulate, implement, and evaluate security risk management strategies.
Design and enforce university security policies/procedures.
Ensure procedures are followed in the use, movement and disposal of property.
Advise management and investigate significant threats and loss of assets.
Investigate criminal and University statutory violations and compile dockets.
Participate in the University Committees as appointed from time to time.
Liaise with stakeholders in handling safety and security matters on campus.

Qualifications And Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Administration or Social Sciences from a recognised university;
A Diploma in Security/Risk Management, Police Studies or equivalent from a recognised institution of higher learning is an added advantage;

Experience and Qualities
At least five (5) years relevant post qualification experience in a security setting.
Clean criminal record.
Ability to write reports.
Ability to work beyond normal working hours where necessary.
Problem solving skills.
Computer literate.
