SECURITY DEPARTMENT

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following posts that have arisen at Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology.

Qualifications and Experience
– At least 5 Ordinary Level passes, including English Language at Grade C or better.
– A Security Training Certificate from a recognized security organization.
– At least three years of experience in the security service.
– Basic understanding of criminal laws of Zimbabwe.
– No criminal record.

Duties and Responsibilities
– Ensure the security of equipment and materials at construction sites.
– Perform static guard and gate control duties, monitoring and authorizing entry and departure of staff and visitors.
– Conduct security patrols to ensure the safety of persons, equipment, and buildings.
– Inspect buildings, access points, and check doors, windows, and gates for compliance with security measures.
– Attend to crime scenes, compile reports, and testify in disciplinary hearings and/or criminal courts.
– Liaise with the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Fire Brigade, and Ambulance Services in emergencies.
– Ensure the security and safety of students, staff, and property.
– Inspect goods received by the University and oversee the removal of goods.
– Record mileage of University pool vehicles.
– Perform any other duties as assigned by the Chief Security Officer through the Sergeant.
