SECTION ENGINEER – BOILERS Ref: ZPCHO 01/26 The Position (x1) The position reports to the Engineering Manager and its main purpose is to manage and control all the Engineering functions, standards and practices at the Boiler Plant Section so as to achieve maximum generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure plant optimisation through monitoring key performance areas of the boilers.
  • Review and assess reports on the condition of plant and equipment and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Initiate engineering solutions and projects that address identified system defects.
  • Carry out feasibility studies and produce project proposals for recommended projects and other engineering solutions.
  • Monitor the condition of plant and equipment.
  • Review maintenance programmes for boilers.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and injuries to staff in the Boiler Plant Section.
  • Compile, monitor and control the Capital Expenditure Budget for the section.
  • Set targets and monitor subordinate performance.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Postgraduate qualification such as an MBL, MBA or equivalent.
  • Membership of a recognised professional institution.
  • 8 years post-graduate relevant experience, of which 5 years should be at senior level.
