Mavuradonna High school located in Mount Darwin is a mission boarding school under The Evangelical Church of Zimbabwe. An exciting position of School Head has arisen for a dynamic, ambitious, results oriented and highly motivated team player to join our team at the school.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The School Head is in charge of the school and takes full control with dual reporting lines to The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and the Board of Governors

The duties include the following:

• Assume the responsibilities for the overall management and operation of the school in accordance with the Education Act, administrative code, school policies and regulations, and the strategic plan.
• Ensure a healthy, safe, conducive teaching and learning environment.
• Ensure correct interpretation and implementation of curriculum and syllabuses.
• Develop, refine and propagate the Vision, Mission and Goals of the school.
• Prepare annual budget proposal for the school…

Qualifications and Experience

1. Graduate holder of a Secondary Teachers’ Certificate/Diploma and should be holder of a degree with a teaching subject.
1. Possession of higher relevant qualification would be an added advantage e.g. Master’s Degree in Education Management would be desirable for such a crucial role.
1. Must have proven and traceable experience of school Leadership having served as School Head or higher grade for at least 3 years. Boarding school experience is a prerequisite.
1. Be knowledgeable in the Education and Civil service Policies, Procedures, Rules and Regulations.
1. Be analytical, self-driven and energetic, organized, result driven, good report writing and computer literate.
1. Be a committed and practising Christian who subscribes to the values and ethos of The Evangelical Church of Zimbabwe and who respects the set school governance structures.
1. Have a good reputation/character and traceable references.
