Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records including fee income, receipts and payments.
- Prepare and monitor the school budget and control expenditure.
- Process fees, receipts, invoices and payments, and perform bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (e.g. tax, audit) and school policies.
- Manage creditors, debtors and school fee accounts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and filing systems.
- Work closely with the School Head and management to provide financial information and advice.
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned.
Requirements
- A Degree in Accounting.
- 1-3 years’ relevant experience in an accounting role, preferably within a school or educational environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Pastel, QuickBooks, Xero or similar) and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Sound knowledge of financial management, budgeting and reporting.
- A good understanding of statutory requirements (e.g. VAT, PAYE, NSSA) will be an added advantage.
