The Safety Supervisor oversees vehicle safety, maintenance coordination, and incident management across all routes. This role ensures returning vehicles are inspected, repaired, and cleared before redeployment, while enforcing strict safety and accountability standards. Acting as the central link between drivers, workshops, and management, the Safety Supervisor streamlines maintenance processes, clarifies fault responsibilities, enhances driver safety awareness, and ensures rapid response to in-transit emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee vehicle repairs upon return from transit, schedule and manage maintenance tasks with workshops, monitor progress, and ensure vehicles are redeployed without delays.
- Lead investigations into breakdowns and faults, engage drivers in the process, determine root causes, and ensure liability confirmation before vehicles return to operation.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs, conduct inductions and refresher sessions, maintain training records, and promote a strong culture of safety compliance.
- Coordinate swift responses to in-transit emergencies, mobilize resources, escalate serious incidents when necessary, and ensure thorough documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, incidents, and training; organize documentation for traceability and accountability; and use data to drive continuous improvement.
- Enforce company safety policies and operational procedures, ensure fairness in fault determination, uphold ethical standards, and guarantee all processes align with company guidelines.
Requirements
- At least 5 O’ Level passes, including Mathematics and Science
- A Certificate or Diploma in Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, Transport Management, or a related field is recommended
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in logistics and Safety or compliance roles and/or any related fields
- Oshemc/Driver Instructors’ Certificate, Hazchem Certificate, Cross Border experience and Maintenance Coordination/ Safety Supervision experience is an added advantage
