Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

•A Degree in Environmental Health and safety management or other relevant discipline
•NSSA Diploma in OHSAS
•8 year relevant experience
•Membership of a recognized professional institution
•Project management and mining experience an added advantaged
•Integrated Management System knowledge and experience in ISO Certification
•A Master Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Identifies and raises awareness of safety and environment issues for the project.
• Ensures production and maintenance of environment health and safety programmes as well as conducting seminars and awareness campaigns
• Carries out routine or unplanned visits and inspections to ensure compliance with Environment health and safety legislation and taking action to improve conditions
• Initiates and carries out investigations on incidents and complaints from the workplace and the general public.
• Advises on planning and licensing applications;
• Advises on environment, health and safety issues in relation to new buildings and developments.
