Reporting to the Roads and Public Works Engineer, the incumbent will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Roads Engineering in roads construction, maintenance and rehabilitation.
- Receiving instructions from the Roads Engineer on new roads to be constructed, visits the sites and assesses the type of road required using given details.
- Taking soil samples for analysis by the laboratory, interprets and advice on the materials to use for the road construction.
- Advising on manpower and equipment to use for the road construction using the site plan and soil sample results
- Supervising construction of roads using laid down procedures, best practices and designs.
- Ensuring that all roads carriageway markings are done using laid down protocols
- Allocating work to subordinates as required.
- Ensuring that subordinates perform their tasks on time and in full.
- Evaluating work and takes corrective measures.
- Compiling and recommends roads budget to the Roads Engineer.
- Compiling, daily, weekly and monthly reports for submission to the Roads Engineer.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in Civil Engineering (Roads).
EXPERIENCE
- 3 years relevant experience.
- No Criminal Record.
