- The position: RISK AND SECURITY MANAGER – HEAD OFFICE
Person specification:
The ideal candidate should possess the following minimum qualifications:
Qualifications and experience
- Degree in Security services or equivalent from a recognized university
- At least 5 years’ working experience at ZRP Superintendent role or equivalent with 3 years at senior Officer level.
- 5 ‘O’ Levels including English Language and a numeric subject.
- Possession of a clean class four driver’s licence
Skills and Competencies
- Sound knowledge of investigating skills
- Good analytical and reporting skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work under minimum supervision
Main purpose of the job:
The main purpose of the job is to champion the execution of the risk management framework and processes essential for the Institution in executing its mandate. The ideal candidate is a key member of the senior management team that plays an advisory role to both management and the Board of Trustees. The role encompasses the leadership and oversight of the Risk Management and Security Unit.
KEY RESULT AREAS (KRAs)
Incumbent is expected to perform the following duties:-
- Develop the Institution’s, Enterprise Resources Management (ERM) framework as overall risk governance and internal controls for approval by the Risk Management Committee
- To develop and update the entity’s risk register and discuss with management and the Risk Management Committee major risk exposures and review the steps to monitor and control such exposures.
- To review and update the risk management policy in line with the changing operating environment and best practice.
- To lead the adoption of modern and cost effectiveness risk management and security systems
- To keep the management and the board informed of the latest development in international standards and practices on Risk Management in general and specific to NMMZ
- To ensure NMMZ’s compliance with statutory requirements, internal policies, guidelines, procedures, laws, and regulations which could have a significant impact on operations and to suggest policies and procedures where required.
- To formulate, develop and maintain annual security, emergency, and loss control schedules to meet both loss control, disaster preparedness and strategic objectives.
- To execute all risk and loss control plans in line with agreed schedules
- To review and follow up risk and loss control recommendations to ensure that management takes corrective action on a timely basis.
- To manage the recruitment and selection activities to facilitate the acquisition of suitable security officers and security guards.
- To represent the NMMZ in all criminal/loss control related cases
- To develop, review and maintain a comprehensive compliance management framework encompassing all operations.
- To protect revenue, assets and collections from losses, theft, fraud, and other misappropriations through conducting preventive security checks
- To carry out investigations and report on findings
- To formulate and manage the risk and security departmental budget.
- To supervise regional security officers
