Research Assistant: One (1) Post
The Council of Midlands State University invited applications for the above stated posts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Research Assistants report to the Principal Investigators
The Research Assistant in Pro Vice Chancellor: Business Innovation and Enterprise Development’s office may be assigned to one or more research tasks. These tasks include organising conferences, editing journal articles, grant application or management, or the other activities that are associated with acquisition, analysis and dissemination of knowledge. More specifically, their duties and responsibilities will include:
Chemical and Biological Data Mining and Analysis.
Editing and preparation of manuscripts for publication
Drug Discovery and Development Research
Grant proposal writing
Managing and replying to project related correspondence
Mentoring students working on assigned research projects
Attending projects meetings
Performing other duties as instructed, if essential to the research activities of the supervisor or project which the research assistant is assigned.
Qualifications And Experience
Academic Qualifications
A good first honours degree in any of the following fields:
Pharmacy/Pharmaceuticals
Chemistry/Biochemistry with good organic Chemistry background
Computational Chemistry/ ChemoInformatics/BioInformatics
Experience in computer aided drug discourse/ Bio Informatics and MPhil will be an added advantage
