An opportunity has arisen within an organization focusing on access to justice and human rights that seeks the services of an Advocacy, Research and Strategic Litigation Coordinator

Duties And Responsibilities
 Proposes designs and implements high impact programming strategy
 Coordinates and manages advocacy, strategic litigation and research initiatives in the organisation
 Conducts strategic litigation cases working with advocates and lawyers to whom work is outsourced
 Fundraises for advocacy, strategic litigation and research
 Develops and manages budgets for advocacy, strategic litigation and research
 Makes appearances before parliamentary portfolio committees.
 Coordinates the preparation of reports for advocacy, strategic litigation and research projects
 Networks and creates relationships with relevant stakeholders.
 Manages performance for staff in the department
 Prepares legal opinions for the organisation.
 Represents the organisation at relevant platforms.

Qualifications And Experience
 Must have an appreciation of local and global issues relating to human rights and access to justice
 Must possess sharp analytical skills .
 Must have excellent litigation skills.
 Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to articulate
issues in English and local languages
 Must be able to manage heavy workload, frequent travel and irregular workhours.
 Must have demonstrated knowledge and practice of advocacy techniques and strategies.
 Must be able to identify relevant policy issues and develop a strategic approach to advocacy around issues related to human rights.
 Must be creative and have the ability to develop effective campaign tools
 Must be able to read and interpret legal and policy documents.

Minimum Qualifications

 LLBS and Masters in Law/ Masters in Development Studies/ Masters in Business Administration
