The Role
The Recoveries Officers will be responsible for managing delinquent loan accounts and contributing to the maintenance of a healthy and sustainable loan portfolio in line with Zimnat’s credit and risk management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow up on delinquent accounts through calls, SMS, field visits and formal notices.
  • Negotiate repayment plans and ensure customers adhere to agreed terms.
  • Conduct field investigations on overdue clients where necessary.
  • Prepare daily and weekly arrears reports for management.
  • Support litigation processes, including preparation of documentation for Small Claims Court and liaison with legal practitioners.
  • Assist in maintaining, reconciling and analysing written-off and non-performing loan portfolios.
  • Maintain updated records of client interactions and payment arrangements.
  • Recommend appropriate recovery strategies for difficult accounts.
  • Work closely with branch teams to maintain healthy loan portfolios.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Banking, Finance, Business Management or related field.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in debt collection or recoveries within a financial institution.
  • Valid driver’s licence is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of court processes, including Small Claims Court and litigation of bad debts.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • High levels of integrity, persistence and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
