JOB DESCRIPTION
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates with the proper credentials to fill a vacancy that has arisen in a Quarry Mining Operation Harare.
Role Overview:
The incumbent will implement optimal aggregate and related products extraction plans, manage & direct operations with a safety-first approach, customer service, & overall continual improvement. Mining, Maintenance, production, quality control & stakeholder relations will also be the Quarry Manager’s responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Drive a safety culture, promote a safe work environment, and ensure safety compliance with all applicable safety, health & environmental laws.
- Promote a focus on our customers’ needs and anticipate and respond to changes in their demands.
- Develop and manage value-accretive annual budgets, track and analyse KPI’s and overall business activities.
- Ability to plan and institute all required mining, processing and sales tasks to meet the desired company performance objectives—continual evaluation and improvement of operational and cost efficiency with direct production efforts.
- Ability to understand and implement Quality Control measures to maximise production, minimise waste by ensuring consistent quality control standards and following strict adherence to company set production objectives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational, manufacturing & Maintenance problems ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Ensure adherence to set company policies, procedures and guidelines, including compliance with relevant mining regulations.
- Ability to Maintain and safeguard all company assets
Requirements:
- Bachelors’ Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Post Graduate Qualification in Mineral Resource Management /MBA/ Equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years experience in quarry mining or related industry required
- Working knowledge of aggregate production, asphalt production, Equipment Maintenance, an extensive understanding of mining operations & mining safety requirements for all applicable machinery and Equipment.
- Knowledge of mining statutory requirements, particularly labour, safety, health and environmental laws required.
