QUALITY CONTROLLER

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above post, which has arisen in the Quality Department at Lobel’s Bread (Private) Limited.

THE JOB

Based in Harare and reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the successful applicant will among other aspects be responsible for:

• Engaging suppliers for corrective action regarding non-conforming raw materials by identifying the problem or violation, recording it, and taking appropriate action.

• Monitoring sour dough recycling and disposal of discarded sour dough as per standard.

• Analysing and inspecting finished packaged products by ensuring that they are sealed, clipped, and have batch codes.

• Root cause and trouble-shooting on customer complaints and in-house product challenges.

• Inspecting truck cleaning by ensuring that necessary detergents are used.

• Establishing quality standards for products by identifying customer needs and requirements.

• Reading blueprints and specifications to ensure that operations meet production standards.

• Recommending any necessary adjustments and changes to production processes.

• Performing inspections at random to assess product quality.

• Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices induction of new employees, visitors and suppliers.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

The ideal applicant should possess the following minimum qualifications and attributes:

• Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Food Science/Food Technology or related field.

• Certificate in Food Safety and ISO Standards will be an added advantage.

• Background of SHE knowledge will be an added advantage.

• At least 2 years relevant experience.
