VACANCY NOTICE
PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER (GRADE C5)
In line with the Corporation’s strategic initiatives towards increased value addition and foreign currency generation, Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe (MIMCZ), is seeking for a suitably qualified candidate to fill the following position:
Reporting to the Corporate Communications Executive, this position exists to support the public relations function through effective media and stakeholder relations management.
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Maximising editorial coverage through special stories, feature pieces and profile stories for the Corporation’s services and events.
- Maintaining communications with media outlets to promote the Corporation’s mission, activities and accomplishments.
- Drafting responses to enquiries from the public, the press and related organisations.
- Organising press trips, accompany journalists on event activations to ensure coverage is maximised.
- Utilising all forms of media, to build, maintain and manage the portrayal of the Corporation.
- Drafting and designing in-house magazine, newsletters, press releases, leaflets, brochures, speeches, websites and social media content.
- Coordinating all advertisements.
- Identifying, interpreting and capturing key online and offline conversations about the Corporation.
- Supporting corporate social responsibility (CS) events where the brand is involved.
- Organising promotional events such as press conferences, open days, exhibitions, tours and visits.
- Any other duties assigned by the superior.
Minimum Academic Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Public Relations/Communications/ Marketing/ International Relations or any other relevant degree.
- MBA or any other relevant Masters’ degree is an added advantage.
- 3 years relevant experience in a similar position with verifiable experience in media and crisis management.
- Professional qualification such as MAZ and IPRCZ is an added advantage.
- Knowledge in design packages such as InDesign, CorelDraw and Photoshop is a must.
- Clean class 4 Drivers’ Licence.

- Have a good command of English.
- Have stellar writing and editorial skills.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have initiative and creativity.
- Have the ability to prioritise and plan effectively.
