JOB DESCRIPTION
Arrupe Jesuit University is advertising the following position: Public Relations/Human Resources Officer
The successful candidate is responsible for managing the reputation of the university.
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Ensure compliance with all labour regulations;
- Manage Public Relations in planning, coordinating and executing public relations activities and events at the University to promote a positive image;
- Market, advertise and promote the mission and programs offered at the University;
- Forge mutually beneficial relationships with the business community, schools/colleges and stakeholders;
- Supervise and manage on and off campus events;
- Disseminate publicity material and distribute products and services of the university;
- Negotiate with partners for industrial links and attachment opportunities;
- Formulate marketing and communication strategy;
- Build strong networks with government, organization and other universities;
- Assist in all communications protocol in the Schools and beyond;
- Ensures confidentiality, integrity and availability of information;
- Market intelligence, exhibition and recruitment visits
- Coordinating events such as graduation and careers guidance etc.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor Administration and Finance
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resources/Marketing/ Public Administration or related equivalence from a recognized institution;
- A Master’s Degree in Human Resources or Public Relations is an added advantage;
- A professional Human Resources certification such as an IPMZ Diploma or its equivalent;
- At least 4 years’ experience in a communication, marketing, or public relations role;
- Must be able to work under pressure, taking initiative with minimum supervision;
- Must be able to think creatively and possess excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be a strong team player, able to work collaboratively with the various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English.
- Sound knowledge of human resources and marketing.
- Some experience of formulating or drafting policies.
