The Role

The role will provide technical leadership in researching, developing and implementing innovative WaSH and laundry solutions that reduce and enable redistribution of related household level care work in selected districts. The position will involve applying operational and specialist technical skills and knowledge to support and implement operational plans and projects to deliver superior operational performance. The PHE will also be responsible for facilitating the participatory identification/ mapping of sites for improved water and laundry facilities as well as managing the relationship between Oxfam and Unilever on technical design elements.

What we are looking forA degree in Civil Engineering, Argricultural Engineering or a relevant degree in a related field.3-5 years’ experience in a similar role will be an added advantage.Excellent technical knowledge of emergency preparedness and response (including contingency planning)Experience in WASH emergency and development programs, preferably with a strong focus on rights-based programming and a good understanding of humanitarian and resilience linksSound knowledge and ability to apply NGO/Red Cross Code of Conduct, the People in Aid Code, SPHERE, the Good Enough Guide, Humanitarian Accountability Principles and Oxfam International procedures and other regulatory codesCoordination skillsProject management experienceClean Drivers License
