Reporting to the Prosthetist, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the timely and effective provision of orthotic and prosthetic devices to workers affected by occupational injuries or diseases. The role contributes to improving patient mobility, function, and overall rehabilitation outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the care of patients receiving prosthetic or orthotic devices, ensuring proper fit and adaptation.
- Support the Prosthetist in evaluating the fit, comfort, and function of devices on patients. Aid in the fabrication of prosthetic and orthotic devices following technical instructions.
- Assist in the selection and preparation of materials for device production.
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on assistive devices to ensure ongoing functionality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
- Perform minor adjustments to devices as guided.
- Monitor and calibrate fabrication equipment as required.
- Support quality assurance efforts to ensure all devices meet required standards.
Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) “O” Level passes including English and Mathematics.
- A Certificate in Carpentry/Woodwork/Leather/ Metal work and or Casting skills.
- A minimum of 2 years’ in a technical environment.
