Introduction

Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe (WCoZ) is a national membership-based network of women’s rights organizations and individual women’s rights activists with a mandate to create a focal point for activism on women and girl’s rights. WCoZ is working on an intervention aimed at increasing the influence and capacity of women and youth in acting collectively, through formal and informal groups, for more democratic and accountable governance at every level of society. Through the intervention, WCoZ seeks to ensure effective implementation of its five-year Organisational Strategic Plan which prioritizes resource mobilization and capacity development of its members.

Purpose and scope of the Consultancy

A call for expression of interest is made to the consultant(s) who wish to conduct a capacity building training of WCoZ Secretariat and Members on funding proposals writing and business plan development. The purpose of this initiative is to build the capacities of WCoZ on effective proposal writing and business plan development. The Consultant shall be expected to develop training materials and a simplified guide for funding proposals development to be used as reference by WCoZ and members in future proposals development initiatives.

Methodology

In carrying out this work, the Consultant shall be expected to employ various approaches which include conducting a Needs Assessment of the beneficiaries, develop materials based on the findings of the Needs Assessment and deliver capacity-building training to the beneficiaries. The Consultant will work closely with the Membership Officer and Finance Officer.

Key Deliverables

A Guide on funding proposal writing and business development; Training Material for Capacity-building Training; A power-point presentation which summarizes the Guide and Training methodology; Conducting the Capacity building training; Prepare a draft report of the capacity building trainings; Business Development Plan; Submit a complete final report five days after the trainings; The assignment must be completed by 20 July 2021.

Expected Qualifications, experience of the Consultant

The consultant should have a Masters’ Degree in Development work, Strategic Planning, Resource Mobilization or related fields; Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in gender, coalition or membership-based organizations and networks; Proven working experience in capacity building and resource mobilization for coalitions and network groups.
