VACANCY:

PROJECTS TECHNICIAN: GRADE 10
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced, honest, self-motivated and task-oriented individuals to fill the above position that has arisen within the Engineering and Technical Services Department.
The successful candidate will report to the Projects Engineer.

THE PERSON SPECIFICATION

Minimum Diploma in Civil Engineering
At least three years of experience in the design and construction of civil/structural engineering works
AutoCAD plus at least two design software skills are a must.
Familiarity with any one project management software is an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

KEY RESULT AREAS

The role includes managing all project-related cost and value reporting from initial budget estimates to the final cost across the full project lifecycle, including
⦁ Participation in the preparation of project plans, budgets, and schedules
⦁ Coordination of project activities
⦁ Liaisons with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
⦁ Project progress reporting
⦁ Site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
⦁ Preparation of project documentation, including reports and technical drawings.
⦁ Providing technical support to project teams
⦁ Participation in project commissioning and handover to the clients
⦁ Project record-keeping and document control.
⦁ Costing and cost control
⦁ Supervision, mentored and performance appraisal of subordinates.
⦁ Any other duties within reason as assigned by superiors.
