NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
The University seeks to recruit applicants with requisite qualifications, skills and experience for the following posts in the Department of Physical Planning, Works and Estates: –
The incumbent ensures the responsibility of planning, organising, overseeing and leading projects from ideation through to completion while ensuring that these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope.
Reporting to the Director, this is a crucial role at the University and requires
interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project parts simultaneously.
Duties and Responsibilities
The position requires the successful applicant to have the capacity to:-
- Coordinate and control projects from the design stage through to completion and handover;
- Liaise with contractors and consultants onsite and ensuring that general specifications are met and construction procedures are executed properly;
- Direct construction inspection, project supervision and monitoring;
- File all projects records in a proper manner that allows easy retrieval;
- Receive and record construction drawings issued;
- Submit daily, weekly and monthly progress reports as appropriate and as directed;
- Ensure that the site and occupational health and safety measures are observed;
- Carry out any other technical duties as assigned by the Director.
