REPORTING TO: THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING SERVICES

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above-mentioned position which has become vacant in the Engineering Services Department.

THE POSITION
The Projects Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines needed to complete a project. The incumbent works to plan projects, establish project criteria, coordinate project reviews and ensure the proper implementation of projects.

QUALIFICATIONSAND EXPERIENCE
A successful candidate should have the following . qualifications and experience
• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering/ Civil and Water Engineering.
• A post graduate qualification in project management an added advantage.
• A minimum of 3 years’ field and project planning experience.
• Must be registered with the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe.
• Knowledge in ARCGIS, AutoCAD. Civil 3D or Civil designer. Microsoft Project.
• A clean criminal record.
• A clean class four (4) driver’s licence. PERSONAL SKILLSANDATTRIBUTES
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Honest, reliable and responsible.
• Problem-solving ability.

• Results driven or task oriented.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring assigned engineering projects.
• Monitoring and evaluating projects.
• Formulating project parameters and assigning
responsibilities to the most capable employees and monitoring the project team.
• Reviewing the engineering projects and initiating the necessary corrective actions.
• Managing contracts.
• Creating frameworks to measure the project’s metrics and data collection.
• Supervising and appraising subordinates.
• Any other duties as may be de legated by your superiors.
