Project Officer X2 – UDCORP
The incumbent will provide essential support for the creation and development of a new town planning, housing and construction project portfolio in order to ensure the sound, efficient and timely co-ordination, planning and development of the projects.
Key functions & Roles
• Develop individual project concepts/project management plans
• Develop and manage budget for each project working with Project Manager and Technical Consultants.
• Manage and facilitate flow of essential information among Project Team &Stakeholders.
• Develop and monitor project operating procedures
• Determine, monitor and control use of project resources throughout project life.
• Assist strategy teams in determining project needs and determining outputs.
• Analyse external project proposals and provide recommendations on project implementation processes
• Collect and analyse project data and information to create project implementation plans
• Create maintain and update project databases and registers in digital and electronic modes
• Maintain, monitor and control project risk registers for project duration
• Analyse technical designs and provide input and feedback to Project Team and Consultants
• Prepare and present project performance reports as and when required
• Prepare and present progress reports to Management Team and Stakeholders on the project.
Skills & Competencies
• Knowledge of public project funding and procurement/ investment procedures
• Familiar with project scheduling computer applications
• Demonstrated experience in budget and financial management
• Experience in multi project administration
• Strong analytical and business development skills
• Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
• Highly computer literate and able to work on various project management applications
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Must enjoy working in a fast paced environment and be willing to learn
• Ability to meet tight deadlines
Education & Experience:
• Degree in Civil & Water Engineering/ Town Planning/ Quantity Surveying/ Architecture/ Project Management or equivalent
• Project Management professional qualification ( PM P or Prince2 ) is essential
• Post Graduate Qualification in Business Administration / Project Management an added advantage
• Minimum 5 years’ working experience – in a Consultancy Office / Construction Management environment
• Hands on experience in Project Management of at least 3 years
• Property development/ investment and town planning experience is an added advantage
