Project Engineer 

 

 

Job Purpose

 

 

• The main purpose of the role of is to oversee the planning and implementation of ongoing solar projects at DPA. This includes ensuring that solar systems are installed correctly and operate efficiently through regular monitoring and timely maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. The Project Engineer will also engage in researching and testing innovative technologies to enhance the efficiency and performance of solar power systems.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

• Solar Project planning, monitoring, evaluation and implementation.

• Site Visits, Site feasibility & Solar Systems Design and complete execution.

• Designing the arrangements of the solar panels, other various supported Electrical equipment, selection of cables for plant including layouts, schematic diagrams and calculation of technical. Sizing, BOQ/BOM.

• Drawing/document submission/approvals, scheduling, inspections, proving the guaranteed prepared a generalized check list for review of all standards.

• Site Supervision, monitoring and reporting of installation teams’ progress.

• Project progress reporting/ input when instructed within agreed timelines.

• Overseeing, inspecting and documenting all completed electrical work/ reticulation to ensure that’s it’s done according to the Zimbabwean Legislation requirements.

• Maintaining health and safety files in line with local legislation requirements.

 

 

Qualification, Skills and Experience

 

 

• 6 ‘O’ Levels including English and Mathematics

• A Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent/any related field

• Diploma in project Management is an added advantage

• Advanced knowledge in AUTOCAD software for designing solar systems

• 3 – 4 years’ experience in a similar or related environment

• Written and verbal communication skills.
