CRS’ relief and development work is accomplished through programs of emergency response, HIV, health, agriculture, education, microfinance, and peacebuilding. Registered in Zimbabwe under the PVO Act, certificate number 6/2002, CRS has been supporting program activities in Zimbabwe since 1989 and has long-standing relationships with Church and non-Church partners and communities throughout the country. The Zimbabwe program implements projects through 14 partner organizations in 30 districts in the areas of health, OVC, education, food security and agricultural livelihoods, and peacebuilding.

 

Job summary

 

The successful candidate will work as part of a team to support PEPFAR OVC local implementing partners (LIPs) as they implement the Pathways Project. S/he will support the implementation of Justice for Children activities. S/he will make sure that her / his thorough and service-oriented approach will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those the project serves. S/he will collaborate with other Pathways officers and Assistants to contribute to a holistic, integrated and comprehensive project implementation. S/he will provide operational assistance to LIPs in Justice for Children. S/he will work with LIPs and community cadres to ensure that Standard Operating Procedures for Justice for children are adhered to. S/he will also monitor and report all Pathways project activities related to

Justice for children.

 

Responsibilities include

 

Providing support in the development, identification and institutionalization of standardized approaches and best practices to implement Justice for Children; Support community childcare workers (CCWs), LIP staff and other volunteers in understanding justice for children programming and being sensitive to the needs of children in need of legal support; Supporting capacity building of CCWs, Social workers and LIPs in undertaking effective Justice for Children work; Under the guidance of the Technical Specialists operationalize Pathways referral system; Supporting Social workers and LIPs in all administrative engagements with the Police and Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs; Creating community linkages for broader community engagement in Justice for Children work; Operationalize regular learning and sharing between partners on Justice for Children work; Contributing to quarterly and annual Pathways work planning processes.

 

Education and experience

 

A Bachelor’s degree in Law; A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience directly implementing Justice for Children work; Proficient in MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications & knowledge-sharing networks; Good relationship management skills with ability to work collaboratively as part of multidisciplinary and multicultural teams; Ability to work under pressure, balance competing work demands in order to achieve agreed-upon results; Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and assistant skills; Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
