About

Bantwana Zimbabwe (BZ) has been implementing the CDC funded through ZimTTECH, Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored and Safe (DREAMS) program in four high HIV burden districts of Bubi, Lupane, Nkayi and Tsholotsho since October 2020. BZ seeks a suitably qualified Project Accountant to support finance and administration processes of the organization under the DREAMS program. The Project Accountant will have oversight of financial management, procurements and provide administrative support to programs at district level.

Responsibilities

  • Review and processing of payments within set thresholds;
  • Make accurate entries into the accounting system (ACUMATICA);
  • Review district financial reports investigating project variances before submitting to the Senior Finance Officer;
  • Adherence to accounting and accounting control procedures;
  • District office spot checks planning and preparation of TORs for submission to the Finance Manager;
  • Review of fuel and inventory movement reports for the district and regional office;
  • Oversee the management of workshop and training expenses;
  • Regular capacity building support to District Finance officers;
  • Supervision of Finance Officers and Interns at both district and regional level;
  • Conduct regular Cash counts;
  • Review of vouchers and making sure proper filling is done;
  • Monitoring of petty cash usage;
  • Review of document tracker and ensuring timely payments are done;
  • Maintain receivables aging reports;
  • Asset register maintenance at regional level;
  • Liaising with District personnel on budget alterations and progress;
  • Logistics management at regional and district level;
  • Maintaining stock register and adequate stock levels as instructed.

Qualifications, experience and competencies

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Administration, or any related field;
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of USG funding regulations;
  • Experience with accounting software, preferably ERPs;
  • Experience in program administrative, and financial management systems;
  • Knowledge of HIV / GBV, health systems, and related issues specifically targeted for adolescent girls and young women;
  • Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills.
