The Role:
Oxfam Southern Africa Cluster is looking for a Programme Management Unit Coordinator to support development, implementation and management of the CHOICE Program.
Job Purpose:
The Gender Justice Program is responsible for the realization of Oxfam’s aspiration of putting women’s rights at the centre of its work, the goal of the Gender Justice programme goal is that ‘’Diverse women, girls, and marginalized groups fully realize their rights, exercise their leadership and live a life free from violence, discrimination and poverty’’. The post holder should bring to the team a desire for quality programme work guided by the deliverables expected under the CHOICE project, working with partners and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programme Development, Management and Implementation.
- Partnership Management.
- Work Programming, Programme Quality and Learning.
- Donor Compliance and Reporting.
- Network and Strategic partnership and Alliance Building.
- Resource mobilisation and public engagement.
What we are looking for:
We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam’s mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do.
An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:
A degree in public health, nursing, development studies, sociology, or related areas with experience working on Youth SRHR issues. Those with master’s degree will have added advantage.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in development work, preferably within a large development or humanitarian organisation.
Knowledge in SRHR issues and gender issues is critical
Assertive with good judgement over issues
Project management skills and drive to achieve results, to ensure timely delivery of activities
Experience managing multi-country projects, working with a variety of stakeholders and partners
Demonstrated commitment to global justice, gender equality and social change, as well as on SRHR issues
Strong communicator that is confident in challenging environments
Demonstrable ability to lead and support others at various levels – local and international
Team player with the ability to work across teams
Adaptable and flexible person
Knowledge and experience of working with partners and multi-country teams
Experience working on advocacy and influencing issues
Belief in Oxfam’s value and mission to overcome poverty and suffering
Willingness to sign and abide by the Oxfam Code of Conduct
Demonstrated commitment to feminism, anti-racism, justice, equity, diversity and inclusion
Ability to travel internationally, occasionally to remote locations in difficult conditions
