Background

A vibrant local non-profit organization registered and operating at the national level in Zimbabwe is looking for a Program Officer. The Program Officer will be responsible for the following:

Specific duties and responsibilities

Plan and implement various citizen engagement, local governance and development programmes; Design and implement capacity building programmes on local governance and devolution for rights-holders and duty-bearers at district, provincial and national levels; To compile monthly and quarterly reports on all programmes for submission to partners; Identification, tracking and addressing of local governance, development and human rights advocacy issues at local, provincial and national levels; To establish and maintain networks and collaborations with relevant civil society organisations and government departments/ministries and representing the organisation at various fora; To perform any other duties as assigned by the Programmes Manager and Executive Director.

Qualifications and skills

A university degree in Law, Political Science or other relevant Social Science discipline. The applicant must have experience in the NGO and governance sectors.
