Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and procurement documentation.
- Source quotations from suppliers and conduct comparative analyses to ensure value for money.
- Maintain an approved supplier database and establish good supplier relationships.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement activities with user departments.
- Ensure timely procurement of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, equipment, and general consumables.
- Track orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Verify that procured goods and services meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare procurement reports as required.
- Assist in contract management and supplier performance evaluation.
- Ensure compliance with hospital procurement policies, financial controls, and ethical standards.
- Support periodic stock counts and audits.
Requirements
- Degree in Purchasing and Supply, Procurement and Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as CIPS or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- At least 2 years’ relevant procurement experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Experience in import of goods and equipment, Zimra clearance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and procurement management systems.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Sound knowledge of procurement best practices and inventory management.
