Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill in the following vacancies

• PROCUREMENT OFFICER GRADE 9

Principal accountabilities

• Overseeing the procurement of goods and services for the local authority in accordance with the relevant legislation
• Preparation and maintenance of annual procurement plan
• Compilation and submission of monthly, quarterly and annual returns to PRAZ
• Maintaining records of all procurement proceedings and related matters
• Managing the procurement process and all procurement contracts
• Preparing all bidding documents in compliance with the PPDPA Act and Regulations
• Advising the Accounting Officer and the Procurement Management Unit on all procurement matters

Qualifications, competences and experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management. A higher qualification is an advantage.
• Membership of a professional purchase and supply board will be an added advantage.
• Must have a minimum of three years working experience in a similar position, preferably in the public sector.
• Must be at least 30 years old.
• Possession of a clean class four driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of procurement laws and regulations in Zimbabwe.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Be highly computer literate with good report writing skills.
