Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill in the following vacancies
- PROCUREMENT OFFICER GRADE 9
Principal accountabilities
- Overseeing the procurement of goods and services for the local authority in accordance with the relevant legislation
- Preparation and maintenance of annual procurement plan
- Compilation and submission of monthly, quarterly and annual returns to PRAZ
- Maintaining records of all procurement proceedings and related matters
- Managing the procurement process and all procurement contracts
- Preparing all bidding documents in compliance with the PPDPA Act and Regulations
- Advising the Accounting Officer and the Procurement Management Unit on all procurement matters
Qualifications, competences and experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management. A higher qualification is an advantage.
- Membership of a professional purchase and supply board will be an added advantage.
- Must have a minimum of three years working experience in a similar position, preferably in the public sector.
- Must be at least 30 years old.
- Possession of a clean class four driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of procurement laws and regulations in Zimbabwe.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Be highly computer literate with good report writing skills.
