Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement organizational procurement policies and processes.
- Provide expert advice to management and key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement.
- Provide leadership, direction and effective management of procurement staff.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify procurement needs and support overall business strategies.
- Lead initiatives focused on sustainability and responsible sourcing.
- Identify and manage supply chain risk and procurement risk.
- Manage projects (e.g. construction, protracted ICT projects).
- Establish performance standards and evaluation processes for assessing and reporting on performance of procurement staff.
- Provide leadership in the interpretation of procurement statutes and regulation to ensure compliance.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (a Master’s Degree is a prerequisite).
- Professional certification in procurement (CIPS or equivalent) is a prerequisite.
- At least 5 years of progressive procurement experience, with 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of procurement legislation, policies, and international best practices.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
