The Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following position that has arisen within the Organization.
5. PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT UNIT (PMU) OFFICER (1 Post)
DEPARTMENT: PMU
Reporting to PMU Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
- Championing the formulation and implementation of procurement strategies in line with the Act.
- Preparation of procurement plans.
- Preparation of bidding documents in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of
- PublicAssets Act (PPDPAAct)
- Managing the entire procurement cycle that includes bidding meetings, bidding evaluations, etc.
- Supervision of the Evaluation Committee, the opening of bids, and the adjudication process.
- Establishing and negotiating contract terms and conditions and maintaining supplier relationships.
- Negotiating with suppliers for favorable payment terms and delivery periods.
- Producing relevant procurement reports monthly, quarterly, and biannually as required by the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act (PPDPAAct)
- Developing effective relationships with suppliers and Procuring Entities.
- Ensuring procurement records such as pricing and other important data are maintained in accordance with regulations.
- Liaise with the Procurement Manager on all procurement matters.
- Adhering to standard operating procedures and PPDPA Act and Regulations
- Preparing and sorting documents for data entry.
- Updating and transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems
- Verify and check data by comparing it to source documents to ensure the accuracy of the data
- Retrieves data from the database or electronic files as requested.
- Sorts and organizes paperwork after entering data to ensure data security.
- Provides regular and accurate data or statistics to Procurement Manager regarding applications.
- Resolving discrepancies in information and obtaining further information for incomplete documents.
- Creating data backups as part of a contingency plan
Qualifications and experience
- Must have Higher National Diploma (HND) or a relevant Degree in Procurement
- Good appreciation of the PPDPAAct
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years working experience in a similar environment
- An innately inquisitive nature and a robust personality
- Analvtical instinct
- Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills possessor of strong morals and the ability to work under pressure
