Vacancy : Procurement Assistant

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Assist  in the  entire  procurement cycle  to include all tendering activities
• Receiving  procurement  requisitions from user departments
• Creating purchase requisitions in line with standing  procedures and guidelines
• Sourcing quotations for goods and services as assigned from time to time
• Preparing comparative schedules for approval
• Assisting in the  consolidation of departmental procurement plans
• Liaising  with suppliers through  sending purchasing  orders  and expediting delivers
• Filing and assists  in the maintenance of all procurement  records
• Provide secretarial  services  and technical guidance to internal Evaluation Committees
• Tracking suppliers payments in liaison with the Finance Department
• Assists  in monitoring   contracts  with respect  to performance , deliverables and contract expiration dates
• Preparing  of ad hoc , monthly , quarterly and annual  procurement reports and returns

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES 

• Ability to work  under  immense pressure and beyond stipulated hours
• Knowledge of SAP  and Microsoft Packages
• Good  organizational , people  and time management skills and sound knowledge of public procurement management
• Good communication and strong interpersonal skills
• A Team player who  is innovative and analytical

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Degree  in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or equivalent degree
• A professional qualification   in procurement preferably CIPS or any related  qualification an added advantage
• At least two years relevant experience in the Public Procurement environment
