Secondary Book Press (Pvt) Ltd is inviting applications from suitably qualified personnel to fill in the post of Print Assistants. The incumbents will report to the Shift Supervisor.
The duties and responsibilities include:

Duties And Responsibilities

1. Operate offset and/or digital printing machines in the production plant.
   2. Prepare machines for printing.
   3. Monitor print operations and keep the paper feeders well stocked.
   4. Correct paper tears or jams.
   5. Collect random samples and inspect them during print runs to determine if any adjustments need to be made and make such adjustments as needed.
   6. Remove printed materials from printers and carry them to storage or finishing areas.
   7. Operate a variety of other equipment such as paper cutting, binding, folding preserving and collating machines.
   8. Perform other duties as assigned.
   9. Assist other staff with printing, collating, binding and distribution of materials.
   10. Assemble and staple reproduced materials as necessary; assist in wrapping publications.
   11. Cutting papers to size using hand and machine cutting tools.
   12. Gluing and stitching components into the cover using manual or automatic machines.
   13. Attaching endpapers to the body of the book.
   14. Trimming book edges to size.
   15. Weighing and stacking books for stocking.

Qualifications And Experience

Requirements and qualifications
1. GCE – O level including Mathematics & English or a technical certificate.
2. Operate a variety of other equipment such as paper cutting, binding, folding, preserving, and collating machines.
3. Understand and follow oral and written directions.
4. Meet schedules and timelines.
5. Work cooperatively with others.
6. Lift heavy objects.
7. At least 2 years working experience in a highly productive environment or in the printing industry is an added advantage.
8. Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
9. Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
10. Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
