1 X PRINCIPAL IT AUDITOR
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of PRINCIPAL IT AUDITOR which have arisen within the Judicial Service Commission. The Commission is a dynamic organization that comprises competent and professional staff.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the Principal Internal IT Auditor will be responsible for the following:
- Leading teams in the performance of detailed evaluation and review of internal controls of computer information systems and recommend remedial strategies to address deficiencies.
- Coming up with draft Risk Based ICT Audit Plan for the year and undertaking internal audits approved in annual plans or special assignments / investigation as requested by management and/or audit committee
- Providing management with a high-level independent assessment of the adequacy and effectiveness of the Commission’s hardware provision, software applications, security, operations, and controls
- Assessing and understanding business systems processes and controls (design adequacy and effectiveness) and report on issues including potential improvement.
- Verifying the efficiency and effectiveness of the systems established by management to ensure compliance with policies. plans, procedures as well as laws and regulations.
- A general and detailed review of work done by the IT audit team to ensure that the audit plan has been implemented and that the documentation meets the Commission’s quality and documentation standards and is following
International Standards. - Leading or managing opening and closing meetings for assigned audits, and present IT topics and issues in meetings for all audits containing an IT scope.
- Reporting to client management on any issues requiring their attention and providing value-added recommendations as appropriate.
- Training other members of internal audit staff in the use of CATs and in developing methods, programs for review and analvsis of computerized information system.
- Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
COMPETENCE AND SKILLS FOR POST:
The person must possess:
- Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science. Information Technolog or equivalent:
- Atleast proven 5 years working experience at senior level in information technology auditing.
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), ISACA certification and the IlAmembership is an added advantage.
- An understanding of advance CAATs:
- Ability to perform control reviews on systems development. operation, programming, control and security procedures
- Knowledge of software requirements for auditing of computing systems and procedures.
- General knowledge of internal auditing concepts and basic accounting principles.
