c. PRIMARY CARE COUNSELLOR – GRADE 4 (5 POSTS)

1. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB SUMMARY

• Counsels and tests clients and patients for HIV.
• Carries out internal quality control for HIV test kits.
• Conducts LP-LAM and CrAg tests in accordance with set guidelines.
• Conducts HIV education sessions on basic facts about HIV daily.
• Registers patients for Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) and follow up of defaulters.
• Compiles HIV counselling and testing statistics.
1. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• 5 ‘O’ Level Subjects including English Language.
• A Certificate in Counselling or equivalent.

1. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• At least 1- year experience in a similar work environment.
