Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily poultry operations, including monitoring bird health, welfare and performance
- Ensure optimal environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, ventilation and lighting quality
- Monitor and manage feed and water intake to ensure efficient growth and production
- Plan and coordinate daily activities, including production schedules and resource utilisation
- Prepare and manage budgets for poultry production activities
- Supervise and manage feed and water intake to ensure efficient growth and production
- Maintain and manage labour within a poultry unit
- Maintain strict biosecurity protocols and ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards
- Oversee turnaround activities, including cleaning, disinfection and preparation of poultry houses
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment, facilities and personal protective equipment
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, or equivalent from a reputable institution
- A Master’s Degree would be an added advantage
- At least two (2) years of relevant practical experience in broiler production
- Experience in livestock production would be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of poultry production systems, biosecurity and animal welfare practices.
