Duties And Responsibilities
Fitting and preparing, reading and interpreting blueprints to assess or plan plumbing installations and layouts.
Installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures for water and sewer systems. Repairing various household appliances.
Inspection and testing plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and code compliance.
Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay water and sewer pipes and moving and lifting heavy objects.
Troubleshooting and resolving problems.
Performing departmental duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.
Preparing cost estimates.
Qualifications And Experience
Qualifications
Five (5) ‘O’ levels including English language and Mathematics.
National Certificate in Plumbing and Drain laying from HEXCO/equivalent.
Journeyman Class 1, apprenticeship trained.
Experience and Qualities
Three (3) years experience as a Plumber and Drain layer in a reputable organisation.
Good knowledge of water supply, wastewater and heating.
Multi-tasking skills, good arithmetical and analytical skills.
Observant and thorough.
Physical dexterity.
Ability to work in constricted areas.
