JOB OVERVIEW

Our client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and manage their network systems. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills in network design, routing, switching, security, and automation, and have a proven track record of delivering high-quality network solutions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Network Design & Implementation – Strong skills in designing, planning, and implementing LAN/WAN, VPNs, wireless networks, and SD-WAN.

• Routing & Switching – Proficiency in protocols like OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, VLANs, and VTP.

• Firewall & Security – Experience with firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet), intrusion detection/prevention, access control, and encryption.

• IP Addressing & Subnetting – Strong grasp of IPv4/IPv6, subnetting, supernetting, and NAT/PAT.

• Troubleshooting – Diagnostic skills using tools like Wireshark, ping, traceroute, SNMP, and syslogs.

• Cloud Networking – Understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP networking services (e.g., VPC, NSG, load balancers).

• VoIP & QoS – Knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323) and traffic prioritization techniques.

• Network Automation & Scripting – Skills in Python, Ansible, or Bash for automating network tasks.

• Monitoring & Performance Tuning – Experience with tools like Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG.

• Operating Systems – Familiarity with Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments.

• Familiarity with different routing and switching devices operating systems i.e. Cisco, Huawei OS, ZTE ZXROS and OCNOS.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor of Business Studies and Computing Science Degree or BSc Computer Science

• IT certifications are a prerequisite

• 5+ years of experience in network design, implementation, and management

• Leadership and management skills

• Strong technical skills in network design, routing, switching, security, and automation

• Experience with network management tools and protocols

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

• Strong communication and collaboration skills
