Reports to: The Payroll Officer
Location: Head Office
Job Purpose
The position exists to assist in the processing of the entire CAAZ Payroll and ensures accurate and timeous payment of salaries
Duties and responsibilities
- Assisting with the payment of monthly salaries by effecting deductions and remitting them to the requisite stakeholders.
- Entering employee information and payroll data into the system in liaison with the Payroll Officer.
- Maintaining and updating payroll records in liaison with the Payroll Officer.
- Participates in capturing monthly payroll input into the system.
- Compiling and checking master file changes on printed reports for accuracy and correctness.
- In liaison with the Payroll Officer, prints and raises statutory and payroll stop order deductions reports’ vouchers to Finance Department for payment.
- Ensuring that all stop order payments to third parties are paid within the stipulated time.
- Producing, separating and distributing payslips according to their pay points.
- Participates in investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies and queries.
- Filing of all payroll documents at the end of each payroll run for easy retrieval.
- Preparing periodic and ad-hoc payroll reports.
- Assisting with issuing and carrying out reconciliations on fuel staff coupons.
- Runs the payroll in the absence of the Payroll Officer.
Qualifications and experience
- Degree in Business Administration or Accounting or Finance or Human Resources Management with at least 1-year hands-on experience in payroll processing
- Diploma/Certificate in Payroll Administration is a must.
- Ability to run payroll using the Paywell payroll systems is a must. OR
- Higher National Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance or Human Resources Management with at least 2-years hands-on experience in payroll processing
- Diploma/Certificate in Payroll Administration is a must.

Skills and Competences
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and other applications
- Meticulous attention to detail and
- Ability to deliver results within tight deadlines

- Experience of HR administration is desirable
