One of our clients a key player in the medical industry is recruiting for the position of Ophthalmic Nurse. The incumbent will be reporting to the MANAGER NURSING SERVICES and will be responsible for coordinating the operations of ophthalmic and operating theatre environment.
Duties And Responsibilities
-Smooth running of the admission procedure.
– Efficient pre-surgery preparation of patient including biometry.
– 100% availability of equipment and materials prior to operations.
-Equipment serviced according to the service plan
– Ensure clean and safe wards.
-Ensure adherence to infection control and admission policies and processes.
– Ensure the complete safety of patients and staff.
-Meal planning.
-Preparing reports.
Qualifications And Experience
-Relevant Diploma in Nursing preferably Diploma in Ophthalmic Nursing.
-Operating Theatre and ophthalmic nursing experience is a must.
-1 to 2 years work experience in ophthalmic and operating theatre environment with minimum supervision.
-Thorough knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office packages.
-Ability to make good decisions when under pressure and stressful conditions. Pressure and stressful conditions emanate from the high expectations of performance deliverance.
– Ability to be empathetic always with all patients.
-Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
-Manual dexterity is a must.
-Detail oriented and able to multi-task, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to work in specialties allocated.
-Energetic and well-groomed.
-Driver’s Licence a must.
