JOB TITLE: Operations Officer

Organisational Background
The Organisation of Rural Associations for Progress (ORAP) is a leading local NGO involved in development and relief (emergency) work in rural communities in Matabeleland North, Matabeleland South and Midlands provinces. It exists to fight all forms of poverty among the rural and urban grassroots communities of disadvantaged women, men and youth through the empowerment of people by facilitating their development in their diverse cultural contexts.
Position summary
The incumbent is expected to provide an efficient and effective operations function for ORAP to execute its mandate and strategy
Major Duties/Responsibilities include:-
- Recommending operational guidelines to the Board
- Supervising subordinates
- Collating reports from commodity tracking systems, warehousing and procurement to produce reports
- Participating in the planning of projects implementation and preparation of donor proposals and reports
- Participating in project development activities
- Maintaining and coordinates an up to date procurement strategy
- Providing technical support to operations staff
- Carrying out stock takes and inventories
- Keeping a record of inbound and outbound logistics
- Managing the entire ORAP fleet of vehicles, owned and leased
- Training staff within the department
- Upholds the ORAP Vision, Mission and Strategic Plan
- Performing any other work related duties as delegated by the Systems Support Coordinator
Qualifications
- Degree in Purchasing and Supply, Logistics, Transport Systems, Administration, Business Management or other related qualifications.
Experience
- Three years experience working on development of emergence programmes in a rural set up

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Prepared to work flexible hours
- Holder of a valid driver’s license
- Sound computer skills and familiar with relevant software packages
