As a player in the Zimbabwean automotive industry we are dedicated to driving local industrialization through high-quality vehicle assembly and innovative engineering solutions. As we scale our production capabilities, we are looking for a high-caliber Operations Manager to oversee our complex assembly lines and supply chain ecosystem. The Role: The Operations Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of our manufacturing strategy. You will bridge the gap between high-level planning and floor-level execution, ensuring that our CKD (Completely Knocked Down) and SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) operations meet international standards of efficiency, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembly Management: Oversee all departments within the CKD and SKD vehicle assembly lines, ensuring seamless workflow from chassis start to final inspection.
  • Supply Chain & Logistics: Manage the intricate logistics of automotive parts sourcing, inventory control, and “Just-in-Time” delivery systems.
  • Production Planning: Utilize advanced Production Planning Software to optimize schedules, resource allocation, and lead times.
  • Quality & Auditing: Maintain rigorous adherence to international automotive quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001/IATF 16949) and lead internal/external auditing processes.
  • Automation & Innovation: Identify opportunities to integrate automation into the assembly process to improve precision and reduce operational costs.
  • Leadership: Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and floor staff.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 15 – 20 years of hands-on and managerial experience specifically within the motor vehicle manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven track record in managing both CKD and SKD assembly environments.
  • Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of ERP/Production Planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or industry-specific tools).
  • Standards: Deep understanding of quality management systems and auditing protocols.
  • Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Mindset: A strategic thinker who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty on the shop floor.
