Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating and communicating with surgeons, anaesthetist and other team members to ensure timely patient flow and efficient utilization of resources.
- Assessing and preparing patients for surgery, ensuring completion of required documentation, consents and preoperative procedures.
- Monitoring patient vital signs, anesthesia and surgical field conditions, promptly reporting any abnormalities.
- Administering postoperative medications, wound care and other treatments as ordered by the surgeons or anaesthetist.
- Adhering to legal and ethical standards of nursing practice, ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Adhering to strict infection and control policies to reduce risks of surgical site infections.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate must have clear verbal and written communication skills and be able to produce accurate reports. Furthermore, they should be able to analyze and solve work-related problems to achieve the correct outcomes. The candidate must be able to interact, negotiate and achieve targets.
- Diploma in Nursing.
- Post Basic Diploma in Operating Theatre Nursing.
- Valid Practicing Certificate.
- At least 2 – 4 years of practical experience in a hospital set up.
