Weltfriedensdienst e.V. (WFD) is a politically and religiously independent non-profitorganisation with its head office in Germany (since 1959) and a regional office in Harare,Zimbabwe (since 1991). We work through local partner organisations and are dedicated tostrengthen initiatives to resolve conflicts non-violently, to establish food security and naturalresource sustainability, and to protect human rights.WFD is an implementing agency of the Civil Peace Service (CPS), which is a programmeaimed at preventing violence and promoting peace in crisis zones and conflict regions. It strives to build a world in which conflicts are resolved without resorting to violence. The CPS is funded by the German Government through the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). CPS advisors seconded by WFD to our local CPS partner organisationssupport the organisations on the ground in their commitment for dialogue and peace on a long-term basis. For more information visit ziviler-friedensdienst.org/en.We are pleased to announce this Open Call for Proposals to identify dedicated, authentic partnerorganisations of integrity in the field of peacebuilding, who are interested and suitable to operatewithin the framework the CPS Programme, and who have exciting and relevant projectproposals to offer. Weltfriedensdienst e.V. (WFD) has applied to BMZ for a new programme ofthe Civil Peace Service in Zimbabwe. The programme, if approved, is expected to commence on1st of January 2027 with a duration of 36 months (2027-2029). The new CPS Programme is acontinuation of previous programmes and aims to strengthen communities for the constructivehandling of natural resource conflicts and peacebuilding. It will focus on community cohesion, land and natural resource conflict transformation, environmental peace building and human rights advocacy to promote trust-building, tolerance and social participation.

Requirements
- at the time of application are a lawful entity and are registered (or in the process ofregistering) for their operation and interventions according to Zimbabwean law
- have at least 3 years’ experience in implementing environmental peacebuildinginitiatives
- can prove functioning and credible management and financial oversight in handlingpublic funds
- are interested in working with a technical CPS advisor seconded by WFD
- are interested and able to work within the ethical, thematic, and societal framework ofthe CPS Programme (see Call for Proposals WFD CPS ZWE_Annex 1)
- can offer a well-planned, coherent, convincing, and preferably innovative project (incl.detailed budget) within the framework of the CPS Programme.

Carefully review the objectives of our CPS Programme, application requirements andyour organisation’s capability and eligibility to become a CPS partner.

* does not adhere to the outlined format
* is not in line with the outcomes of the CPS Programmewill not be considered and not be responded to.
All other organisations submitting successful and unsuccessful funding proposals will benotified by email.
Submissions will be reviewed to check that eligibility criteria are met and that theproposed project fits within priorities of the CPS programme. Shortlisted candidates willbe notified by Friday, 8th of May 2026.
Interviews/visits, due diligence and organisational capacity assessment with shortlistedcandidates will be conducted until Friday, 24th of July 2026. Aspects like reliable and pro-active communication, self-drive, motivation and team culture play a significant role in theassessment.
Successful candidates will be notified by Friday, 31st of July 2026 and will proceed to thegrant contracting stages of the application process.
Onboarding sessions will be held to discuss details of the project documents as well asthe Terms of Reference for a future CPS advisor in line with the capacity buildingrequirements of the organisation. This process should be completed before the official
start of the programme. The CPS advisor is going to be recruited and administered byWFD in consultation with the partner organisation.
Finance training, report writing training & Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation training willbe provided to selected partner organisations at the beginning of the programme.
