Key Responsibilities
- Create articles, graphics, art, short fiction and poetry.
- Develop content for Match-A-Meal and Holiday Campaigns.
- Assist with small administrative filing tasks for Open Calls.
- Create artwork, graphics and video for social media.
- Develop short videos for the Simuka Africa Youth Association YouTube channel and Instagram Reels.
- Support mental health arts advocacy.
- Promote self-care, art therapy and the benefits of art for child development.
- Support donation campaigns to expand SimukaAfrica.org’s reach.
- Submit art based on Art Therapy Open Call themes where appropriate.
- Support female outreach and empowerment initiatives.
Requirements
- Creative experience, degrees and/or portfolios in any field of the Arts and Art History.
- Professional experience supervising youth-led and/or creative communities, groups and programs.
- A degree and/or background in Psychology, Mental Health, Art Therapy, Social Work, Social Science and Education.
- Experience regarding fundraising, grant writing, publicity, public relations and online campaigns.
- Effective administrative protocol, social media management and public relations experience.
- Mandatory experience in social media campaigns, including graphic design experience with Canva, Adobe and similar programs.
- Backgrounds in literature, creative writing, editing and publishing, including .epub and/or Kindle formatting.
- Candidates from any field who would like to renew their connection to the Arts.
