Nurse Tester/ Team Leader

Matabeleland AIDS Council (MAC) is a local NGO providing integrated HIV services within Matabeleland South Province.

Purpose of job
To provide comprehensive and quality HIV counselling and testing integrated health services to clients with the aim of ensuring that all eligible clients are linked to care and treatment to promote healthy lives through continuum of care.

Duties and responsibilities
Supervises physical verification and data deduplication activities in the districts of operation; Motivates both MAC and public sector nurses on the need to achieve set targets; Appraises the Project Manager on progress as well as challenges; Collaborates with other PSI team members on the ground especially on utilization of resources; Provides community-based HIV testing and counselling and integrated health services; Facilitates referrals and linkage to HIV treatment and care; Supervises the nurse testers in the districts to ensure effective referral and linkage to HIV care; Facilitates recording and reporting of activities on paper and DHIS2 based platforms; Ensures the recording of the HTS in the Community HTS Register; Participates in data deduplication and verification activities prior to the reporting period; Conducts outreach and community service planning and implementation with MOHCC and other implementing partners; Conducts demand creation for HTS and other HIV services; Attends stakeholders meetings involving partners and MOHCC.

Qualifications and experience
Diploma in Nursing; A Post Basic Qualification is an advantage; Systemic Counselling Course
Certificate in Rapid HIV Testing is mandatory; Training and experience in OI/ART is an added advantage; At least 2 years of work experience, with demonstrated experience in conducting; HIV Index case contact tracing and testing a distinct advantage; Experience in the HTS Program
