This is a full-time, on-site role for a Network Engineer, Technical Support & Workshop Engineer, located in Harare, Zimbabwe. The role involves providing technical support to clients, troubleshooting and resolving network or system issues, and assisting with customer service. The position also includes responsibilities for performing workshop-based tasks, maintenance, and ensuring smooth network and system operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first- and second-line technical support to customers via multiple channels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with internet connectivity, network equipment, and end-user devices.
  • Manage workshop activities including hardware diagnostics, fault finding, repairs, and equipment configuration.
  • Maintain accurate hardware records, assist with stock control, and ensure high quality standards.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Technical Support and effective troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Strong Analytical Skills to evaluate problems and implement appropriate solutions
  • Experience in Customer Support and outstanding Customer Service skills for effective communication and service delivery
  • Knowledge of hardware and network systems, including setup, operations, and maintenance
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Relevant certifications in IT networking or related fields are a plus
  • Proven experience in a technical or engineering role.
  • Strong IT hardware & networking knowledge, with experience in IT support or workshop roles.
  • Proficiency with routers, switches, radios, and firewalls.
  • Experience in laptop & desktop troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, IP).
  • Customer care experience and strong customer service skills
  • Experience in networking and network administration
  • Microsoft support experience (Windows, Office, etc.)
  • Firewall configuration and management experience
  • Network monitoring and troubleshooting experience
  • Excellent verbal & written communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask effectively, and maintain a customer-focused mindset.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment; IT certifications are a plus.
