VACANCY 

Key Job Functions:

• Conducting routine premises inspection to ensure business operators are compliant with Council By-Laws, regulations and statutes

• Responsible for law enforcement; Council By-Laws, inclusive

• Coordinate training for Municipal Police personnel

• Carrying out routine patrols and security checks on public properties, infrastructure and assets in Ruwa

• Developing controls and measure to safeguard Council properties and assets against theft and vandalism

• Developing and implementing security strategy and policies

• Proffer security solutions to the Council and a safe, secure working environment for the Council and its stakeholders

• Liaising with other law enforcement agencies on security matters and conduct joint operations

• Submit weekly and monthly and adhoc reports on Municipal Police Operations to the Head of Department

• Compliance with Council’s risk management policy

• Conducts special investigations on municipal police matters

• Supervising subordinates in the Municipal Police Section

• Ensure there is discipline, direction and coordination of Municipal Police’s activities

• Any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Supervisor/Head of Department

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Degree from a recognised University in Police and Security Studies/Equivalent Qualification

• 5 Ordinary Level passes including English Language and Mathematics

• 3 – 5 years relevant work experience in similar position

• Knowledge of prosecution, criminal law and Court of Law process

• Knowledge in the use of firearms and handling of dogs

• No criminal record

• Clean Class 4 Drivers’ Licence
