Key Responsibilities

  • Enforcing Council by-laws, regulations and policies.
  • Maintain public order within the City’s area of jurisdiction.
  • Protecting and safeguarding Council property and assets.
  • Assisting in traffic control and parking management.
  • Conducting patrols and inspections within the municipal properties.
  • Attending to public complaints and reports.
  • Participation in emergency response and public safety initiatives.
  • Reporting any criminal activities to the Zimbabwe Republic Police.
  • Escorting Council cash in transit.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by supervisor from time to time.

Requirements

  • At least five (5) O’ Levels including Mathematics and English.
  • At least 18 to 30 years of age
  • Be physically and medically fit
  • Have no criminal record
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be prepared to work long hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Demonstrate high levels of integrity, discipline and commitment to public service.
  • Be prepared to complete a 10km road run in 50 minutes for males and 60 minutes for females.
  • Have a minimum height of 1.65m (barefoot) for males, 1.58m (barefoot) for females.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Should be highly knowledgeable.
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations relative to work situations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle confidential information.
  • Honest, reliable and responsible.
